Layered Wire Pendant 

Discover how sterling silver wire can be transformed into a beautifully textured jewelry focal through hammering, twisting, wrapping, and layering.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind pendant featuring several contrasting wire profiles. Begin with a substantial twisted-wire foundation, then add flattened, coiled, and wrapped wire accents to build dimension and visual interest. Complete your design with crystals, pearls, or other beads and an optional charm or focal dangle.

Along the way, you’ll learn techniques that can be adapted for future pendants, bracelets, brooches, and other jewelry designs. No two finished pieces will be exactly alike!

✨ Some wire working experience helpful but not necessary! All levels welcome.

What You'll Learn

• How to twist wire evenly to create decorative texture
• How to combine round, half-round, and twisted wire
• How to form coordinating loops at each end of a wire component
• How to wrap and secure multiple layers of wire
• How to add beads, crystals, coil rings, and focal elements
• How to create a balanced jewelry composition
• How to trim, tuck, smooth, and finish wire ends safely
• How to connect the finished focal to a chain
• Ideas for adapting the technique into bangles, brooches, and other designs

Ample free parking on site; handicap accessible parking and ramp up to first floor. 

Instructor Provides

Each student will receive access to all tools and materials needed to complete one pendant, including:

• Wire
• Assorted Swarovski Crystal beads
• Swarovski Crystal specialty pendant
• Jewelry findings
• Use of specialty jewelry making tools 

Students will complete one finished pendant during class. Because this workshop encourages individual design decisions, finished projects will vary.

Please note: Chain is not included in the class kit but available for purchase onsite. 

Students Provide

• magnification if needed for seeing fine details

• If you have favorite beads, crystals, charms, or a small focal pendant that you would like to incorporate, you are welcome to bring them. The instructor will help determine whether they are suitable for the design.

STUDIO NOTES:

• You’re welcome to bring snacks and drinks (fridge available)
• 3rd-floor walk-up with elevator access if needed
